US: Delaware, Maryland, Ohio
Hey everyone! My name is Katherine Coker and this is my first year as an Admissions Counselor at Radford University, working with students from DE, MD, & OH. I am originally from Hartsville, SC and I graduated from the University of South Carolina in 2013 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration. From my first day on campus, I was overwhelmed with the kindness and welcoming nature of students and faculty alike. Radford is small enough to enjoy the perks of small class sizes, while at the same time being large enough to offer Division 1 Sports, a wide variety of academic programs, and study abroad opportunities.
I am excited to work with you through the admissions process and to connect while learning all about your dreams and goals. My job as an Admissions Counselor is to help figure out the best way to achieve those dreams and goals. The biggest piece of advice I can give a student is that the first few weeks of college can be scary- everything is brand new and you are away from home. Don’t let yourself get overwhelmed; Put yourself out there, attend campus events, talk to people everywhere you go and eventually you’ll realize that things aren’t so scary anymore.
When I’m not at work, I love to attend local events around the beautiful New River Valley area such as farmers markets or professional mixers. There is a ton to do in the area and it will give you a chance to explore! Fun fact about me: I am a twin!
As you may know, finding the right college can be a confusing and overwhelming process. As you embark on selecting your new home away from home, I will do my best to ease any concerns you may have about the application process along the way.
