Center for Rural Health

Many communities throughout Southwest and Southern Virginia continue to experience healthcare workforce shortages, limited access to care and persistent health disparities. No single organization can solve those issues alone. In the spring of 2026, Radford University launched the Center for Rural Health as a collaborative effort to address these issues. 

The Center for Rural Health brings together health systems, foundations, educational institutions and community organizations from across Southwest and Southern Virginia with the overall goal to optimize health and wellbeing throughout the region.
