The Radford University CARES (Community, Access, Resources, Education, and Service) Mobile Health Clinic (MHC) is an innovative, faculty-led, student-run initiative that delivers high-quality, compassionate care directly to communities across both Roanoke and New River Valleys and Southwest Virginia. CARES MHC integrates education, service, and research by creating a living classroom where students gain hands-on experience while addressing real healthcare needs and challenges. Through strong partnerships with local organizations, CARES MHC expands healthcare and mental health access to rural and underserved areas.

To improve community health outcomes while educating and empowering the next generation of healthcare professionals through experiential, interprofessional care delivery.
CARES MHC provides students with real-world clinical experiences that strengthen skills in patient-centered care, community and population health, interprofessional collaboration, and leadership in healthcare delivery.
The CARES MHC brings services directly into the community to reduce barriers such as transportation, cost, and access. We welcome individuals, families, and communities seeking preventive care, health education, and connection to local resources.
CARES MHC collaborates with community organizations and healthcare providers to expand access to care, support innovative pilot programs, and strengthen workforce development pipelines. Interested in partnering? Please contact CARESMHC@radford.edu.
