There are many ways to study cybersecurity at Radford University. Below you will find the three pathways to choose from. Visit the Catalog search to find more out about these options.

Pathway 1

The following combination of major has been certified as an NSA Center for Academic Excellence Cyber Defense Education Program of Study (2016-2021): BS in Computer Science and Technology (Advanced Networking concentration + Undergraduate Certificate in Information Security.

Note that the Undergraduate Information Security certificate is supplemental to the BS in CSAT degree and will only be issued upon successful completion of the BS in CSAT degree.

Pathway 2

Information Security Certificate that supplements a BS in CSAT or BS in IS degree program.

Pathway 3

A BS in Cybersecurity Degree

Students must complete the University’s Core Curriculum Requirements, the Degree Core Requirements, the Bachelor of Science Requirements, and any necessary electives to reach at least 120 credit hours.

• Any 200-level, 300-level, or 400-level ITEC course (3-4) (except ITEC 281, ITEC 301, ITEC 304, ITEC 307, ITEC 369, ITEC 381, ITEC 398, ITEC 495, ITEC 496, ITEC 497 , and ITEC 498) or any 500 or 600-level ITEC course approved by the Department Chair.

• Any 200-level or above MATH course (3-4)
• ASTR 111 - General Astronomy I
• ASTR 112 - General Astronomy II
