This year we have a canine creature feature with a musical tribute to werewolves among other monster-ous things. There will be art, video, trivia, and of course, live Halloween themed music from Radford University's Commercial Music Ensemble and the Radford University Singers. AND, if you come in costume, you'll get some anti-werewolf goodies to keep you safe.

ADVISORY: The intention is to have fun and the material is generally light, but we use video from films in certain sections and . . . well . . . it is a Halloween show and werewolves can be scary. (It's kind of the point, actually.) Anyway, most people will find our show significantly less concerning than PG-13, but we do ask parents and sensitive audience members to use that as a general guide for appropriateness.

CVPA's annual Halloween event, the Spooktacular, art show now has an official name . . . Art from the Crypt . . . and we hope the title becomes as recognizable as Spooktacular.

This year's theme runs along gothic horror lines with a lean into werewolves. Think “dark forest” and “haunted castle” and you have the vibe. This show tends to draw 300 + people from the university and the surrounding community, so it is a good opportunity to share your talents and have some fun.

OPEN TO: Radford University students (any major, grad and undergrad)

ARTWORK REQUESTED: 2D or 3D physical art works (paintings, drawings, sculpture, art objects, etc.) 3D printed objects and art created with digital tools (such as Blender, Z Brush, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) are welcome, but no purely AI generated art please. You may submit more than one item.

CONTENT GUIDELINES: This is a Halloween show, so elements of horror are acceptable (though not required). However, we want to remain tasteful in our exhibitions. Derogatory, discriminatory, inflammatory, and/or gratuitously violent or sexual pieces may be rejected by event organizers.
