INSY 490: Independent Study
Credit Hours: (1-3)
Gives an individual student the opportunity to examine a topic of personal interest
in more depth than is possible in any existing course. No student may apply more than
six hours of credit for Independent Study toward graduation requirements.
Detailed Description of Content of Course
The specific content of the class will be determined by the student and faculty and
agreed upon before in the documentation required for an independent studies class.
The agreement will be approved according to university policy for approval of independent
studies classes.
Detailed Description of Conduct of Course
The Independent Study is a course designed to allow the student to examine a topic
in more depth than is possible in an existing course.
Goals and Objectives of the Course
Each instance of the course will have a unique set of student learning outcomes which
will be specified in the documentation required for an independent studies class.
Assessment Measures
Assessment of the student's success is based on the completion of the assessments
set in the independent study form for the class.
