V. Course Description: Theories of leadership in healthcare organizations are examined and applied to current regulations, economics, and policies. Leadership principles and practices are examined to navigate current issues and effectively manage change, individuals, and groups.

The following topics will be covered during this course.  Please note the modules will open on the Sunday prior to the start of the module (With the exception of the first module).

Week 1-Introduction/Module 1

Detailed Description of Conduct of Course

Course is conducted synchronously and offered in multiple formats. D2L weekly module-based assignments of readings, lectures, guest speakers, discussions, exams, case studies, presentations, group activities, and reflective learning.  

 

Student Learning Outcomes

  1. Analyze the different types of leadership styles used in healthcare organizations.
  2. Compose solutions to effect the desired change(s) in healthcare organizations.
  3. Develop strategic plans for implementing change within healthcare organizations.

 

Assessment Measures

Students will be graded based on the assignments of readings, lectures, guest speakers, discussions, exams, case studies, presentations, group activities, video recordings, Zoom sessions, and reflective learning of the course.
