Prerequisites: Request from the associated course instructor; Department Chair Approval

Students engage in instructional experiences by assisting a professor teaching a course in the design curriculum.

Official Course Description:  Students engage in instructional experiences by assisting a professor teaching a course in the design curriculum.

   1. Training Opportunities
   2. Professional conduct 
   3. Responsibility  
   4. Accountability 
   5. Reliability 
   6. Effective written and oral communication skills 
2. Course Expectations 
   1. Specific skills/ assistant expectations are variable due to the diverse nature of design courses. 
   2. General duties may include the following: teaching assistance, in-class assistance, supervised instructional activities, supervise study hours, lab facilitator, peer instructor, course administrative assistance, record-keeping 

 

Detailed Description of Conduct of Course

Instructional strategies vary by associated course structure and faculty direction 

 

Student Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:  

1.  assist in instructional activities 
2. demonstrate the duties associated with instructional activities

 

Assessment Measures

Assessments include an evaluation of the student's performance as a peer-instructor and participation in course instruction-assisting tasks; assessments will vary due to the variety of associated course structures and faculty.
