Counseling and Human Development


The M.S. in Counseling and Human Development includes two concentrations. Clinical mental health counseling trains counselors by providing hands-on experience and teaching them about different counseling approaches. School counseling prepares school counselors to support students in grades K-12, these counselors take on leadership and advocacy roles to help all students.

Your individual style of counseling will be created as you study through a blend of courses, directed experiences, supervised clinical practice, and personal growth. This unique combination has proven to be an effective training process for our graduates who seek employment as professional counselors in varied settings or who desire advanced graduate study beyond the master’s degree.

Careers and Internships

Become licensed as either a Professional School Counselor (school concentration) OR a Licensed Professional Counselor (CMHC concentration).
