Shilpa V. Rao occasionally teaches MKTG 625: Business Analytics Foundations at Radford University. She is a full-time faculty member and currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Practice in the Department of Marketing at the Pamplin College of Business, Virginia Tech.

Shilpa earned her Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where she taught courses in marketing analytics, marketing research, and digital marketing. She brings nearly a decade of industry experience in various IT and leadership roles across the U.S. and India. Her professional background includes work with clients in sectors such as banking (First Data, JPMorgan), healthcare (UnitedHealth), and travel (Travelocity).
