Address:
Headshot of Eftila Tanellari
I am an Associate Professor of Economics at Radford University, where I have been a faculty member since Spring 2013. Prior to joining Radford, I completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Georgia. I hold a Ph.D. in Applied Economics and an M.S. in Agricultural and Applied Economics from Virginia Tech, as well as a B.S. in Agricultural Business Management from the University of Arkansas.

My teaching and research interests lie primarily in environmental and natural resource economics, regional development, and applied microeconomics. At Radford, I teach a variety of courses including Principles of Economics, Climate Change Economics and Policy, Natural Resource Economics, Environmental Economics, and Global Economy and Business. I am passionate about helping students understand the economic dimensions of real-world challenges, particularly those related to sustainability and policy.

I truly enjoy teaching and consider it one of the most meaningful aspects of my work. I strive to create an engaging and supportive learning environment that challenges students to think critically, make connections, and become active participants in their own learning.

My current research focuses on the economics of renewable energy, environmental policy, regional development, and pedagogy. I am particularly interested in how economic tools can inform and improve decision-making around environmental management and sustainable growth at both the local and national levels.

Outside of my professional responsibilities, I enjoy spending time with my family as well as playing volleyball, hiking, gardening, reading, and being outdoors.
