Phase 2: Establishing Goals, Strategies, and Actions for a Sustainable Radford University - January 2021 - April 2021

Phase 3: Writing the Climate Action Plan - May 2021 - October 2021

Target completion date: October 2021 (*Tentative due to potential COVID-19 disruption. Allow additional 2 months contingency.)

Develop a sustainability and climate action plan that includes:

• Net carbon neutrality date of 2040 or sooner
• New sustainability goals and targets based on current data
• Specific strategies and actions for achieving goals
• New energy strategies that reduce costs over the course of the plan
• A combination of strategies to achieve net carbon neutrality by 2040
• Social justice and equity as critical to our sustainability mission
• Clear metrics for measuring progress
