Service Member & ROTC Priority Registration

To accommodate the scheduling difficulties and obligations encountered by active duty service members, Reservists, members of the National Guard, Veterans, and ROTC members, the Office of the Registrar will give priority registration to these students.

Students are required to submit the following documentation each academic year in order to have priority registration assigned:

1) Active Duty Service Members: Submission of active duty military orders which verifies active duty military status or activation of Reservist/Guard to Melissa Neal, Associate Registrar, mneal1@radford.edu.

 2) Reservists and/or National Guard: Submission of Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE) form (also known as DD FORM 2384-1) to Melissa Neal, Associate Registrar, mneal1@radford.edu.

3) Veterans: If you are a Veteran and are currently certified for military benefits (Post 9/11, Chp. 33, Chp. 31, 1606-1607) with RU, you will automatically be given priority registration.  If you are not currently using military benefits with RU, please submit a copy of your DD-214 form to Melissa Neal, Associate Registrar, mneal1@radford.edu.

ROTC students do not need to contact the Registrar’s Office directly and will automatically be assigned priority registration if the student is listed on the official report sent by the ROTC Office. Please note: M1, M2, M3 and M4 cadets will receive priority registration if on the cadet list provided by the ROTC office.

Students receiving GI Bill benefits as a military dependent (Chp. 33 -Dependent or Chp. 35 DEA) do not receive priority registration.
