Service Member & ROTC Priority Registration
To accommodate the scheduling difficulties and obligations encountered by active duty service members, Reservists, members of the National Guard, Veterans, and ROTC members, the Office of the Registrar will give priority registration to these students.
Students are required to submit the following documentation each academic year in order to have priority registration assigned:
1) Active Duty Service Members: Submission of active duty military orders which verifies active duty military status or activation of Reservist/Guard to Andrea Repass, Assistant Registrar, 540-831-5626, firstname.lastname@example.org.
2) Reservists and/or National Guard: Submission of Notice of Basic Eligibility (NOBE) form (also known as DD FORM 2384-1) to Andrea Repass, Assistant Registrar, 540-831-5626, email@example.com.
3) Veterans: If you are a Veteran and are currently certified for military benefits (Post 9/11, Chp. 33, Chp. 31, 1606-1607) with RU, you will automatically be given priority registration. If you are not currently using military benefits with RU, please submit a copy of your DD-214 form to Andrea Repass, Assistant Registrar, 540-831-5626, firstname.lastname@example.org.
ROTC students do not need to contact the Registrar’s Office directly and will automatically be assigned priority registration if the student is listed on the official report sent by the ROTC Office. Please note: Only M3 and M4 cadets will receive priority registration if on the list provided by the ROTC office. M1 and M2 cadets do not receive priority registration.
Students receiving GI Bill benefits as a military dependent (Chp. 33 -Dependent or Chp. 35 DEA) do not receive priority registration.
