Student Recreation and Wellness Center
The 115,000 square foot Recreation & Wellness Center is home to Intramural Sports, Outdoor Programs, Fitness & Wellness, and the Sports Clubs.
Students have access to a 3 court gymnasium, a Multipurpose Activity Court (MAC), 2 racquetball courts, and 15,000 square feet of strength and cardio fitness space. There are also 4 Group Exercise/Fitness Studios to serve various fitness classes, yoga, and indoor cycling. Additionally, students have an indoor track that spans two levels with beautiful views of the campus and surrounding area.
Peters Hall Recreational Facilities
Peters Hall, located in the middle of campus, is an academic facility and is used by sports clubs and clubs and organizations for practices and rehearsals. Home to activity rooms, a strength and conditioning lab, climbing wall and full-court gymnasium, Peters Hall offers many amenities and options for various student activities.
The Department of Health and Human Performance utilizes Peters Hall to provide recreational opportunities to faculty and staff. Details about faculty and staff fitness oppertunities in Peters Hall can be found on the HHP website.
Outdoor Recreation Complex
This outdoor complex includes a 162,000 square foot turf field. This field can be configured to one collegiate sized soccer, lacrosse, or football field; three intramural soccer fields; four intramural flag football fields; or many youth sized soccer fields. The turf fields are be for scheduled intramurals and sports clubs practices and are available for open recreation when the schedule and staffing permits.
The complex also includes two sand volleyball courts and an outdoor basketball court. The volleyball and basketball courts will be for pick-up games along with intramural tournaments and leagues. This portion of the facility will close for the season in early November and will reopen after spring break in March, weather permitting.
The department also operates 1 softball field and 3 multipurpose fields located at the Dedmon Athletic complex.
The Student Outdoor Recreation complex is located approsimately 4 blocks from main campus at 309 East Main Street.

Christiansburg Aquatic Center
Students, faculty, and staff now have no-fee access to the Christiansburg Aquatic Center through a cooperative agreement between Radford University and the aquatic center. This center is a 64,00-square-foot facility that features a 50-meter diving pool, a leisure pool with a two-story water slide and a heated therapy pool. Read more about Christiansburg Aquatic Center.
