Radford University selects Ann Marie Klotz as next VP for Student Affairs

Radford University today named Ann Marie Klotz, Ed.D., to be the University’s next vice president for Student Affairs.

Klotz will serve as a member of President Brian O. Hemphill’s cabinet and will be responsible for the strategic planning and operations for student housing, student conduct, Dean of Students office, disability resources, diversity and inclusion, student support services, substance abuse and violence intervention, student activities, student and fraternal organizations, student government, counseling and health services.

“Ann Marie brings to Radford University more than 15 years of extensive and diverse experiences with proven leadership results in student affairs,” said President Hemphill. “On behalf of every member of the Radford family, I extend a warm Highlander welcome to Ann Marie as she brings her valuable expertise and many talents to Radford University. We look forward to her numerous contributions to the University’s senior leadership team and the University Student Affairs office, as together we embrace Radford’s traditions and envision our future.”

Most recently, Klotz served as dean of students at New York Institute of Technology. Her accomplishments have included increasing campus residence occupancy by more than 30 percent in one year, creating and implementing new revenue-generating strategies and developing new campus resources and strategies to improve experiences and opportunities for international students. Her previous student affairs positions include director of residential education in the Division of Student Affairs at Oregon State University, assistant director of residential education in the Division of Student Affairs at DePaul University, and residential life positions at Ball State University and previously at Albion College. In addition, she served as director of the Anna Howard Shaw Women’s Center at Albion.

Klotz earned a B.A. in political science from Grand Valley State University, an M.A. in student affairs administration from Michigan State University, an M.A. in women and gender studies from DePaul University and a doctorate in curriculum studies/educational leadership from DePaul.

Klotz will assume her new duties at Radford University January 8, 2018.
