National Science Foundation Research Experiences for Undergraduates (NSF-REU) - supports undergraduates over the summer in active research in all disciplines funded by NSF

American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Entry Point - Internships, mentoring, and technology primarily in STEM fields for students with disabilities.  Fall applications

US-DOE Argonne Student Research Particiaption Program - summer research for science and engineering majors

DOE Scholars Program - supports students and recent graduates in a variety of fields from engineering to communications

Department of Homeland Security - a summer internship program in homeland security related STEM fields

Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) Minority Access to Research Careers (MARC) - funds for the support of student travel to FASEB conferences and summer research programs primarily for minority students in biomedical and behavioral science

Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU)  - provides multidisciplinary research opportunities

Southern Education Foundation (SEF) Southern Education Leadership Initiative - summer fellow program for social justice and education policy

Sigma Xi - provides up to $1000 for all areas of science and engineering for travel or non-standard equipment

Center for Enabling New Technologies through Catalysis - Collaborative teams of researchers address the need for more efficient, inexpensive and environmentally friendly methods of producing fuel and useful chemicals from renewable resources

Center for Chemical Innovation in Solar Fuels - Research addresses the efficient and economical conversion of solar energy into stored chemical fuels

Chemistry at the Space-Time Limit - Research focuses on developing the essential science and technology to probe single chemical events in real space and time

Center for Chemical Evolution - Research focuses on understanding how small molecules can self assemble and evolve to form biopolymers like RNA and proteins, and how this may have played a role in the origins of life

Center for Sustainable Materials Chemistry - Research focuses on enhancing the sustainable chemistry toolbox, providing new materials and methods for fabrication of next-generation electronic and energy devices

Center for Selective C-H Functionalization - Research focuses on developing the chemistry for selective C-H functionalization to revolutionize the practice of chemical synthesis

Center for Aerosol Impacts on Climate and the Environment - Research focuses on transforming our ability to accurately predict the impact of aerosols on climate and the environment by bringing real-world chemical complexity into the laboratory
