The Archives and Special Collections Department at McConnell Library welcomes researchers and visitors; appointments are requested.
Accessing and Using Materials
To access materials onsite, researchers and visitors complete a brief registration form (PDF) that provides information about collections and reading room use. Guidelines are designed to provide an environment that is welcoming and comfortable for researchers, yet safe and secure for rare and unique collections. Please note that collections are non-circulating and can be used only in the Archives and Special Collection Reading Room on the 5th floor of the library.
Reproductions and Copies
Reproductions and copies are available through non-flash image capturing by the researcher or at the Archives and Special Collection Reading Room's digital scanning station and paper copiers. For objects that need to scanned by staff fees do apply. For more information, see Scanning and Digitization Fees (PDF) in Archives and Special Collections.
Requests to use or publish any material are subject to copyright as defined by copyright law. Unless materials are in the public domain or being used under Fair Use, researchers must obtain the permission of the copyright holder and/or Archives and Special Collections for use or publication. Since other legal restrictions may apply, for example privacy, staff are available to consult regarding restrictions and copyright concerns and make every attempt to facilitate use.
Researchers should acknowledge McConnell Library, Archives and Special Collections as source and owner of cited, loaned or used materials.
