Afternoon Adventure *
Selu Conservancy Bonnie Hurlburt '58 will lead her classmates in a Selu Conservancy tour. It will include an afternoon hike and as well as conversation in the seven-sided room. Classmates will meet in the lobby of the Best Western, the Class of 1958 host hotel, and self-drive to Selu at 12:45 p.m. The Selu visit will include walking, steps and uneven terrain.

Spend the evening with us enjoying innovative choreography highlighting a wide variety of dance genres including Modern Dance, Classical Ballet and Jazz. The shockwaves resounding from the 1998 beating death of gay college student Matthew Shepard catalyzed the LBGTQ movement and inspired a groundbreaking docudrama that would change the way theatre addresses potent issues. On the 20th anniversary of this tragic event, Radford University Theatre proudly presents the “The Laramie Project”, a theatrical presentation chronicling the events surrounding Shepard’s death. Sponsored by the School of Dance and Theatre. Tickets at the door: $10 per person.

Join us for the opening reception for a new exhibit featuring Vivianne Carey, Caroline Rust and Noor ul ain Zaib. This exhibit is a body of work that mirrors the intricacies of being a woman – focusing on identity and social justice. Carey and Rust use the mediums of sculpture and painting in powerful applications for addressing gender and social issues that stem from personal experiences, while Noor uses the medium of video to explore contemporary social, cultural and political landscapes. Following the reception the Art Museum will stay open till 5 p.m.
