Brief Bio

Renée Huth, PT, DPT, PhD, Advanced Credentialed Clinical Instructor, is an Assistant Professor and Director of Clinical Education in the Department of Physical Therapy at Radford University Carilion (RUC). Her PhD is Public Health with an emphasis on the community health and well-being. Her PhD dissertation focused on intercultural and cross-cultural competence training and its effectiveness to mitigate physical therapy practice errors. Dr. Huth’s primary research and clinical interests are in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion; public health leadership; inter/intraprofessional education and collaboration; healthy aging; and program outcomes. Her oversight and teaching includes the didactic course, AHPT 850: Psychosocial Elements of Disease and Disability, and the entry-level Doctor of Physical Therapy program clinical education course series: AHPT 830, 870, and 890.

Outside of the workplace, Dr. Huth is an avid outdoors person, hiking, canoeing, camping, birding, gardening or on the next scuba diving adventure. Her and her husband when not hiking the local trails or bicycling the Blue Ridge, may likely be found tending to their honey bees or gardening with their Labrador (he likes to dig holes!) or reading a good book fireside with their tuxedo cat curled up on their lap.
