Dr. Smith, Heather Paisley and our first-year students participated in the Roanoke Point-In-Time Count early in the morning on January 26, 2023. The students helped in the annual census of people experiencing homelessness in the area and provided them with resources, such as care kits and information about a local resource fair! Big thanks to the local Homelessness Assistance Team (HAT) for allowing us to help out!
Roanoke City Vice-Mayor Patricia White-Boyd joined students, faculty and staff from the RUC Physician Assistant program to present a proclamation in recognition of PA Day 2022. Officially recognized on October 6, PA Day is a celebration of licensed clinicians who practice medicine in every specialty and setting. This important event, begun by the American Academy of Physician Assistants, aims to raise awareness of the PA profession, and inform people about healthy living. Join us in celebrating and recognizing RUC’s PA students as well as the practicing PAs who help care for our families friends and neighbors every day!
The PA students organize a blood drive each year for PA Day. In this picture, we see Sidney Raymond, Co-Vice President of the Class of 2023, settling in to provide platelets to those in need!
The second-year students spend the weeks prior to clinicals learning needed procedural skills. Check out these stellar students and their intubation skills.
A little scrubbing, gowning and gloving education before students go out on clinical rotations.
The students love to learn to splint different orthopedic injuries.
The White Coat Ceremony is always a great time to celebrate the accomplishments of our students and to share the celebration with family and friends. Congratulations to the Class of 2022!
Each year the Radford University students compete in the Virginia Academy of PA Students Challenge Bowl. This is a great time for all! Thanks to these students who did a fabulous job representing our program!

The Radford University PA Program works is blessed to have the opportunity to visit Vistar Eye Center each year. The staff teach students to evaluate the eye comprehensively, and a few of the students often volunteer to get their eyes dilated so their classmates can better see the retinal anatomy.
The first and second year students gather to meet and socialize after the first week of school in August.
