Family Nurse Practitioner

The Family Nurse Practitioner concentration of the DNP program prepares graduates with the knowledge and skills to synthesize and apply theories, clinical reasoning, and research in the treatment of individuals, families, and groups across the lifespan. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in delivering primary healthcare to individuals across the lifespan, providing holistic and family-centered care that addresses the diverse needs of patients and their families.

Upon successful completion of the approved courses, graduates are prepared to take the Family Nurse Practitioner certification exam offered by either AANP or ANCC. 

Nurse Leadership (post MSN)

The DNP in Nurse Leadership curriculum combines advanced nursing knowledge with leadership and management principles, healthcare policy and advocacy, quality improvement strategies, and innovative healthcare delivery models. Students engage in a comprehensive curriculum that emphasizes evidence-based practice, ethical decision-making, interprofessional collaboration, and effective communication. 

Graduates of a DNP in Nurse Leadership program are prepared to assume leadership positions across various healthcare settings, including hospitals, clinics, healthcare systems, government agencies, academic institutions, and nonprofit organizations. They are equipped to lead interdisciplinary teams, manage resources, implement evidence-based practices, advocate for policy changes, and drive quality improvement initiatives. Nurse leaders with a DNP degree play a critical role in shaping healthcare policies, driving innovation, improving patient outcomes, and advancing the nursing profession. 

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner speciality concentration of the DNP program prepares graduates with the knowledge and skills to synthesize and apply theories, clinical reasoning, and research in the treatment of individuals, families, and groups across the lifespan Courses focus on advanced psychiatric mental health nursing practice for addressing behavioral health issues, as well as acute and chronic mental illness. Evidence-based methods include psychopharmacological, psychotherapeutic, and psychoeducational interventions with emphasis on mental health promotion and disease prevention strategies. This specialty concentration meets the criteria established by the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC). Upon successful completion of the approved courses, graduates are eligible to take the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification examination offered by the ANCC.
