Dr. Sarah Kennedy attended the Fall 2017 American Chemical Society National Meeting and Exposition in Washington D.C. in August.  Sarah participated as a panelist during the undergraduate programming session “The Job Hunt: Do’s and Don’ts of Applying and Interviewing” to give advice to students in their job search. She also discussed life/work balance and celebrating successes with other professionals at a Younger Chemists Committee networking event.  Sarah serves as the Treasurer for the ACS Division of Professional Relations (DPR) and in this role she presented the 2017 budget status and proposed the 2018 budget at the semi-annual DPR business meeting.  DPR is focused on professional development and Sarah works to ensure that divisional funding is utilized best to support programming for DPR’s seven subdivisions: Chemists with Disabilities, Women Chemists, Younger Chemists, Minority Chemists, Ethics, International Chemists, and GTCA (Gay and Transgender Chemists and Allies).
