Every program in the School of Teacher Education and Leadership is accredited and aligns their competencies with the various professional organizations. Students pursuing a teaching license at Radford University can do so in all of the special education licensure areas recognized by the Virginia Department of Education, as well as gifted endorsement and a certificate in autism. Programs are available for licensure in PreK to 3rd grade, PreK to 6th grade, middle school (grades 6 to 8), and secondary (grades 9 to 12) in science, math, and social studies. Radford University has interstate teaching agreements so that teachers who complete our programs and receive their license in Virginia can teach in 48 other states.  As part of the requirements of the Virginia Department of Education, certain licensure tests are required to be accepted into the Teacher Education Program and be eligible for licensure.
