During the past fiscal year, Highlanders near and far joined TOGETHER to support Radford University and its most ambitious fundraising campaign to date. Thanks to the generosity of these donors, Radford celebrated a 33% increase in philanthropic support this year, as well as attaining $91.8 million of the $100 million goal.

The current momentum of the TOGETHER Campaign has been strengthened by the Campaign Steering Committee. This dedicated group of Radford supporters is comprised of Radford University alumni, faculty, staff and friends. Each member serves as an ambassador for the campaign and works diligently to meet its objectives. Regular meetings provide an opportunity for the group to connect and ensure success continues.

On April 13, 2023, members of the committee met at The Highlander Hotel Radford to plan for the completion of the TOGETHER Campaign. This was the first meeting held at The Highlander, which opened on April 1, 2023.

Chair of the Campaign Steering Committee, Sandra C. Davis, welcomed the group before a tour of The Highlander began, and the meeting commenced in the ballroom. President Bret Danilowicz provided University updates, and Interim Vice President of Advancement and University Relations Penny Helms White shared exciting news about the status of the TOGETHER Campaign. As of March 2023, $91.3 million of the $100 million goal had been raised. This number reached $91.8 million in July 2023.

Director of Annual Giving Carolyn Clayton and Executive Director of Alumni Relations Laura Turk drove the group activity, which presented new ways for committee members to think about their networks and spread the word about the campaign.
