Hey there! My name is Shawn Ficadenti (don’t worry if you can’t pronounce my Italian last name on the first try). I am a Virginia native through and through, born and raised in Springfield, Virginia and a Radford University (’18) graduate with a B.S. in Psychology and a B.B.A. in Management with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. I assist students/families in the greater Fredericksburg Area and Northern Virginia areas as well as the state of Maryland.
I have an immeasurable amount of pride for my alma mater. I enjoy sharing my personal experiences as well as the vast amount of opportunities available for our future Highlanders. During my time as a student, I was a Campus Tour Guide as well as an Administrative Assistant for the Office of Admissions. On top of my two jobs, I was the Founder and President of the LGBTQ+ organization on campus known as Spectrum, and I’d love to answer any questions related to Radford’s queer and trans resources. As someone who identifies within the LGBTQ+ community, I understand the anxiety and worry with feeling safe and comfortable in a new environment, and I want you to go through this college application process with ease.
I believe all students can find their place, and who they are as an individual throughout their college years. The friendships you develop, the professors that turn into mentors, and the overwhelmingly unconditional support you receive from the campus community is life changing. Radford wants to be your second home and we can help you get there. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have!
