Hello! My name is Jerry Brown, one of the Assistant Directors in the office and I am new to the admissions team here at Radford University. I am originally from Emporia, Virginia and I graduated from Christopher Newport University in 2015 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Cellular, Molecular & Physiological Biology while double minoring in Leadership Studies and Communication Studies. I will be working primarily with students in the Richmond Region.
Radford is truly an incredible place; everywhere you look there is something new to get involved in, whether it is an in or out-of classroom experience; be open to everything and get involved as soon as possible! This university places a strong emphasis on the students, which is very easy to see. The faculty, staff, and administration all realize that without students, we would not be here.
My best piece of advice to students is to visit campus. I compare the college search process to buying a new pair of shoes. While you may go to the store knowing exactly what you are looking for, it is unlikely you will just walk in the store and pick out a pair without trying them on first. It is nice to do research beforehand and have an idea of what you are looking for from your experience and what that particular institution has to offer, but it’s irreplaceable for walking the campus and getting a feel for the environment that you would make your new home for the next 4 years.
I am a sports fanatic and can always be found cheering for the Green Bay Packers, the Atlanta Braves, and the LA Lakers. When I am not recruiting the next great class of students for Radford, I enjoy watching Scandal as well as doing anything outdoors.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with anything that you may need throughout the admissions process.
