Mission

To cultivate students into the next generation of effective and civically engaged leaders connected to their local, national and/or global communities using a relational leadership model to promote positive change.

We join your professional goals with your personal passions to make a better world.

The Citizen Leader Foundation

The Social Change Model (SCM) of Leadership Development was established in 1996 by the Higher Education Research Institute at the University of California - Los Angeles (UCLA). 1

The Social Change Model has 7 C's that we have included in our foundation. The Seven C's:

  1. Consciousness of Self
  2. Congruence
  3. Commitment
  4. Collaboration
  5. Common Purpose
  6. Controversy with Civility
  7. Citizenship

We value equity, social justice, self-knowledge, personal empowerment, collaboration, citizenship, and service.

Citizen Leader supports the development of leadership qualities in all participants [students] -- those who hold formal leadership positions and those who do not. We view leadership as a process that is inclusive and actively engages all who wish to contribute.
