Eligibility for PowerPoint Slides
Over 460 PowerPoint slides spanning 14 chapters have been developed as potential aids for classroom presentations and lectures only. These slides may be requested by those instructors who have adopted this text from McGraw-Hill for student use in one or more courses, or sections of courses, for the 2007-2008 academic year. As PowerPoint media, the slides have not been developed for public distribution to students in courses using Sex & Gender, 6th edition, to students in other courses or to the general public.

                                  Slide Development & Computer-Program Compatibilities
The slides were developed using Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003 on computers running Microsoft's Windwos XP, version 5.1, service pack 2. Instructors using programs or versions of programs and computers other than the ones indicated and highlighted should not assume that the Sex & Gender, 6th edition slides, and especially their animations, will run as intended on their systems. The suitability of different versions of the Microsoft Office PowerPoint program, of other computer operating systems including other versions of Microsoft Windows, or (for example) of any version of Apple, Linux or Unix systems have not been tested. Some limited experience suggests that Apple systems may not be able to run the animations employed on many of the slides, and may in fact convert these slides to a single image. Also, conversion problems may occur with versions of PowerPoint programs earlier than 2003. Given such potential problems, all slides should be tested prior to depending on them in actual presentational or instructional situations.

                                                              Technical Support
Limited, non-emergency technical advice is available for some kinds of problems encountered in trying to use these slides as aids in classroom lectures and presentations. However, with no regular access to Apple, Linux or Unix based computers, any support to users of these systems will at best be of quite limited value.
