Solution: Student.java

We will continue the previous lab about Student objects, adding on to the requirements there.

• Complete sameMajorAs and onDeansList.
• Re-write the constructor, to initialize the fields yourself. (That is, don't call super.)
• For each function, add javadoc: A one-line description, followed by:
  • a @param paramName description for each parameter.
  • a @return description (unless the function is void),
  Note: For constructors, you can just write /** standard constructor */ if it is just assigning to each field in the straightforward way.
  Also note: javadoc for a test-function is easy: You just say /** test the other functions in this class. */, and since it takes no parameters and is void, you don't need anything further!
• (You may have started this last time:)
  Write tests, a stub, and finally a correct implementation of enrollNewStudent which takes in a name and sid, and returns a new Student with 0 hours enrolled and a 4.0gpa.
• Write a function getGradepoints, that takes in a Student and returns how many gradepoints they have total. Since every students contains an average of their gradepoints, and you know how many credit-hours they have, this is straightforward.
• For next time: write a function which converts letter-grade to its gradepoints (that is, an A is 4 gradepoints, B is 3, etc.).
  Hint: if you have a character, you can call Object120.charToInt; this gives a character-code for that letter. To see how many characters past 'A' you are, just subtract off Object120.charToInt('A')!

• Write test cases, a stub, and finally a correct implementation of max(Student,Student) which takes in two Students and returns the one with the higher gpa. If the gpa's are tied, return the Student with more credit hours. (If they are still tied, you can return either one.)

  Challenge: If they tie for gpa and credit hours, then choose the one who comes first alphabetically; you can call Object120.compareTo(String,String) and check whether the int it returns is negative, zero, or positive corresponding to the first String being less, equal, or greater than the second alphabetically.
