Focus and Philosophy: I believe music is both a discipline and a joy, and I teach with the goal of inspiring
excellence while nurturing creativity. My approach helps students build strong technical
skills while experiencing the collaborative magic of ensemble playing.
Background: I was born and trained in Ukraine, where I began violin at age five and later studied
at Odessa State Conservatory. My journey has taken me through Europe, Israel, and
the U.S., with decades of experience as both performer and teacher.
Teaching: At Radford, I teach violin and viola, chamber strings, and coach ensembles. I emphasize
both individual technique and ensemble collaboration, preparing students for competitions,
performances, and lifelong musicianship. Many of my students have gone on to win awards
and perform internationally.
Research/Scholarship/Creative Work: My career includes chamber music across Europe, collaborations with classical and
klezmer musicians in Israel, and professional teaching and performing in the U.S.
I regularly perform with the Roanoke Symphony and Opera Roanoke while continuing to
mentor competitive and professional students.
