Focus and Philosophy: I believe that singing is about more than technique — it’s about telling stories and
sharing human emotion through music. My teaching is grounded in the bel canto tradition,
helping students develop healthy, expressive voices while also cultivating dramatic
presence on stage. I strive to create a studio environment that is supportive, challenging,
and inspiring, where each singer can grow into their own unique artistry.
Background: My path to music began with a deep fascination for opera’s ability to move and connect
people. That passion took me around the world, where I had the privilege of performing
leading tenor roles in works by Mozart, Verdi, Donizetti, and Bellini. Those experiences
— from Europe’s great opera houses to American stages — shaped not only my artistry,
but also my desire to pass on what I’ve learned to the next generation of singers.
Teaching: In lessons, I focus on helping students build strong fundamentals like breath support,
resonance, and diction, while also preparing them for the realities of the stage —
from auditions to full productions. We work on everything from classical opera arias
to concert repertoire, always connecting technical growth with expressive performance.
My goal is for students to leave each lesson feeling more confident, skilled, and
connected to their artistry.
Research/Scholarship/Creative Work: Beyond teaching, I’ve enjoyed an international performing career, singing at venues
such as Covent Garden in London, Hamburg Opera, Opéra de Strasbourg, and New York
City Opera. My performances have been recorded and broadcast, and I’ve collaborated
with world-class conductors and orchestras. These experiences continue to shape my
teaching, allowing me to share real-world insights about artistry, professionalism,
and life in the performing arts.
