Focus and Philosophy: I believe in fostering artistry that is both expressive and disciplined. My teaching
combines rigorous technical training with the freedom to explore creativity, encouraging
students to find their own authentic voice on the cello.
Background: I trained at the Cleveland Institute of Music and USC, where I also studied Suzuki
pedagogy. My career has taken me across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, collaborating
with world-class chamber ensembles and quartets.
Teaching: I teach both modern and Baroque cello, bringing historical and stylistic awareness
into lessons. I also work with chamber groups, helping students learn collaboration,
interpretation, and ensemble performance skills.
Research/Scholarship/Creative Work: I am the cellist of the Avanti Ensemble and perform widely as a soloist and collaborator.
My work includes live broadcasts, international chamber performances, and recordings
with leading musicians.
