Sustainability Leadership Team Internship Program Application

Apply now to participate on the Sustainability Leadership Team during the 2020 - 2021 academic year.

Generation Z, is the youngest, largest, most ethnically-diverse, most tech savvy, and most connected generation in American history, comprising 27% of the US population. Whatever Gen Z decides to do collectively will change the world. Creating the change that is necessary to meet the challenges of the 21st Century will require leaders who understand sustainability and have the skills to work collaboratively across boundaries. Start practicing next semester with the Radford University Sustainability Leadership Team.

The Sustainability Leadership Team is composed of an interdisciplinary team of 10 students. Sustainability interns will increase their understanding of sustainability, complete sustainability projects on campus, and become change agents to develop and expand sustainable practices on campus and beyond.

The internship requires approximately 4 – 8 hours per week. Sustainability Interns will complete weekly sustainability learning assignments and actively collaborate with other interns and partners to meet goals. Weekly meetings with the Radford Sustainability Internship cohort are required. Interns will gain experience, practice professional and project management skills, and build their leadership competencies.

The internship is voluntary, not for credit, and unpaid, but individuals can adapt it to meet academic requirements.

The 2020 - 2021 academic year will mark the fourth year of the Sustainability Leadership Team.
