Sustainability Leadership Team - Internship Program

Sustainability Leadership Team Application - All internship positions have been filled.

The application period for 2020 - 2021 cohort will open Spring 2020.

The 2019 - 2020 academic year marks year three of the Sustainability Leadership Team. The internship is voluntary, but individuals can adapt it to meet academic requirements. Interns will learn about sustainability, gain experience, practice professional skills, and build their leadership competencies. The internship is unpaid.

The Millennial Generation is the largest, most diverse, most tech savvy, most educated, and most connected generation in the history of the United States. Whatever the Millennial Generation decides to do collectively will change the world. Creating the change that is necessary to meet the challenges of the 21st Century will require leaders who understand sustainability and have the skills to work collaboratively across boundaries. Start practicing next semester with the Radford University Sustainability Leadership Team.

The Sustainability Leadership Team this year is composed an interdisciplinary team of 10 students. Sustainability interns will become change agents to help improve and increase sustainable practices on campus, educate the Radford community about sustainability, and complete sustainability projects on campus.

The internship requires approximately 4 – 8 hours per week. Sustainability Interns will collaborate with other interns and partners to work towards assigned goals. Weekly meetings with the Radford Sustainability Internship cohort are required. Sustainability Interns will receive assistance from the Radford University Career Center in marketing their experience and skills to the workforce.
