Sustainability Leadership Team Student Coordinator
The Sustainability Leadership Team Coordinator manages a cohort of 10 - 15 student interns who will work in teams to accomplish sustainability goals in assigned focus areas. The primary responsibilities of the Team Coordinator will be to meet with the teams weekly and provide direct support to their efforts, coordinate logistics for team meetings and projects, coordinate academic and professional skills education and training, coordinate with campus partners, and
track internship team progress. In addition, the Team Coordinator will assist RU Sustainability in its outreach and education efforts, assessment and reporting of sustainability metrics, and will participate in the RU Sustainability Steering Committee.
The Sustainability Metrics work-study employee focuses on evaluating sustainability data to measure and manage Radford University’s Carbon Commitment and Climate Action Plan goals. Specifically, the student’s primary responsibilities will be processing relevant data from 2018 for STARS (Sustainability Tracking, Assessment, & Rating System), the campus Greenhouse Gas Inventory, the Princeton Review Guide to Green Colleges Survey, and the Second Nature Annual Progress Report, and entering it into the appropriate databases, web-based calculators, and reporting tools.
Sustainability Web Developer
The Sustainability Web Design work-study employee focuses on updating and restructuring the Radford University Sustainability Webpage. Specifically, this position will work with the Sustainability Manager to essentially create a new website within the Radford University CMS system by rethinking the website structure, developing and adding new content, and updating with new information and features.
Housing & Residential Life Student Sustainability Coordinator
This sustainability student employee works collaboratively with the Sustainability Manager and Housing & Residential Life (HRL) to coordinate activities with the residence hall Sustainability Ambassadors (formerly Eco Reps), and implement sustainability education and outreach programs in the residence halls. The HRL Sustainability Coordinator will serve as the liaison between HRL and Sustainability.
Food Recovery Network Coordinator
This position is responsible for coordinating logistics for Food Recovery Network operations with Radford University Dining Services, local community organizations, the Food Recovery Network, and the Radford University Sustainability Office.
Job Details Include:
- Serving as the primary point of contact for Food Recovery Network partners
- Coordinating volunteers for food recovery operations
- Ensuring volunteers have required food safety training
- Completing required paperwork for recording food recovery, including recording and reporting volunteer numbers and food weight
- Organizing ongoing and new food recovery operations with Dining Services
- Coordinating with current and new food recipients in the community
- Coordinate program promotion with Sustainability Team and Dining Services
