Spread the word, not the germs!

  • Wash your hands as often as you can, for example:
    • After using the restroom
    • Before eating, serving, preparing or touching food
    • Before and after tending to a sick person or treating cuts and wounds
    • After handling garbage
  • Open and close doors/knobs with tissue/towels or upper arm
  • Carry alcohol based hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol, for times when you do not have access to soap and water
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces where you eat, serve, prepare, or handle food
  • Avoid contact with wild animals
  • Keep your garbage cans sealed
  • Clean your hands after touching animals
    • Animal waste
    • Make sure your pets get appropriate care their vet
  • Do not eat or drink after others (more so, when they are sick)
  • Use antibiotics wisely and only when prescribed
    • Read labels and inserts
    • Remember antibiotics do not treat common colds and flu
    • Consider getting the flu vaccine and other vaccinations as suggested by your health care provider
