Residential Boarding Policy/Residential Student Agreement
The Residential Boarding Policy States:
All first time, first semester students under the age of 21 are required to live in Radford University operated housing for at least four consecutive full semesters.
Exemptions to this policy may be granted if the student:
- Lives with immediate family or legal guardians who are age 21 or over and are permanent residents within commuting distance of the University (1 hr. drive time or 60 miles).
- Is married or has dependents.
- Has served at least one year active duty in US Military forces.
- Has received permission from the Director of Housing and Residential Life or appropriate designee.

Residential Student Agreement
Please use the links below to downlaod a copy of the terms and conditions of the Residential Student Agreement. All residents acknowledge their agreement with these terms electronically as part of the online housing application. The terms of the agreement are legally binding for the period indicated on the agreement.
Exemption from the Residential Boarding Policy/Residential Student Agreement
It is our goal to provide communities and facilities that support all students who live on campus at Radford University. We strongly advise you not sign a lease or enter into an off-campus housing arrangement unless you are exempt from the requirement to live on campus or released from the terms of the Residential Student Agreement.
Applications for Exemption from the Residential Boarding Policy/Residential Student Agreement are accepted through census day for each semester. The application will close promptly at 5:00 p.m. census day. All information and required supporting documentation must be received by the deadline for the request to be considered. The academic calendar lists census day for each semester.
To apply for exemption, go to OneCampus, select the Housing tile, then select the Housing Applications link and indicate the term for which you would like to apply for exemption. Then choose “Request an Exemption from Housing Requirements” on the Select Application Type page.
