Private Fitness Classes

Private fitness classes allow groups or individuals to be privately trained/instructed outside of the regularly scheduled Group X program. Our staff of Group X Instructors and Personal Trainers will tailor a class or group session to meet the exercise goals/needs of the requesting team or organization. Private fitness classes are great for:

  • Group teambuilding and bonding

  • Improving athletic performance through cross-training

  • Offering off-season training

  • Social opportunity to do something healthy together

  • Managing stress

Some of the formats we can offer as a private class include Zumba, Yoga, Pilates, Boot Camp, Cardio Combat, Cycle, and specialized formats such as General Weightlifting, Speed & Agility, Power training, Mobility training, and Interval Training.


Private classes are treated as one personal training session and will cost $20/hour. This includes the instructor wage, facility rental, equipment maintenance, and liability coverage.

Breakdown: $15/hour for the trainer plus $5.00/hour for facility and related admin fees

Requesting a private class

Please have group e-mail Liz Greenlee ( and include the following information:

  • Name of organization requesting class

  • Format requested

  • Instructor requested (if applicable)

  • Purpose of the private class

  • Requested date/time


  • All participants must be active Radford University students or members of the Student Recreation & Wellness Center.

  • Requests are not guaranteed and must be made at least 2 weeks in advance.

  • Payment is required within 7 days after the service is rendered.
