Private Reservations

Private Reservation Guidelines

  • Group size is limited to 25 participants.
  • Two Climbing Wall Monitors are provided for your event reservation. Additional staffing is available at the rate of $10.00 per hour, per staff member.
  • Because of the potential risks involved in Indoor Climbing, special considerations must be made for children’s use of the climbing wall. Accordingly, these provisions shall be met before anyone under the age of 18 will be allowed to climb. If a currently enrolled student of Radford University is under the age of 18, he/she must sign the Assumption of Risk Waiver and have his/her parent or legal guardian also signs the waiver before participation.
  • All participants must sign the Assumption of Risk Waiver and acknowledge they understand the risk involved in indoor climbing.
  • Participants must be at least 14 years of age to belay. In addition, all participants under the age of 18 who want to belay must complete the Belay Clinic conducted by a the The Deartment of Student Recreation and Wellness Outdoor Programs staff.
  • Participants must be at least 5 years of age to climb and must fit correctly in a full body children’s harness or seat harness.
  • A parent or legal guardian must be present with the child at all times while at the Radford University Climbing Wall.
    • Exception I: a currently enrolled student of Radford University who is under the age of 18 is not required to have a parent or legal guardian present when climbing.
    • Exception II: a Radford University sponsored group or conference may request specific dates during which parents or legal guardians may not need to be in attendance while their children climb. These events must be arranged in advance and with the permission of the Assistant Director of Outdoor Programs.
  • For anyone under the age of 18, the parent or legal guardian must sign the appropriate forms including the Assumption of Risk Waiver before participation.
