Home About the Trip About Las Piedras Biodiversity Station Map of the Expedition 2016 Trip 2015 Trip

A half-hour hike from the station, this plunging waterfall is both an incredible view and a wonderful place for a swim! The stream above the falls is clear and cool, providing a habitat for a variety of small fish and marine insects. Standing in the shadows of the understory, you can look out over the falls into the startling brightness of the open river – you might see boats or logs floating downstream, or maybe even a tapir or jaguar swimming across.
