Intelligent.com’s research guide is based on an assessment of 140 accredited colleges and universities across the nation. Each program is evaluated based on curriculum quality, graduation rate, reputation and post-graduate employment.

“We evaluated the programs based on their outcomes, cost, faculty, flexibility and reputation in the field,” Intelligent.com said. “Our top picks for the best online master’s in math education are respected, affordable and flexible.”

Intelligent.com said Radford University’s inclusion in the Top 35 “speaks to the amazing work” done by the program’s faculty. It “demonstrates to over 100,000 of our monthly visitors that your program provides top quality education that can help students achieve their career aspirations,” Intelligent.com said about the Radford program.

“We are delighted to be ranked among the best programs in the country. This is our third national ranking since 2018,” said Math Education Concentration Graduate Program Coordinator and Associate Professor Darryl Corey, Ph.D. “These recognitions speak to the commitment of the faculty and staff and our pledge to remain a student-centered, flexible learning graduate program.”

Radford’s Math Education Content Area Studies program offers teachers the opportunity to enroll in courses in which they can earn a master’s degree or a certificate entirely online.

Teachers seeking a master’s degree at Radford University complete a 36 credit-hour program, which includes 18 credit hours of math content and 18 credit hours of education, technology and research. The certificate program consists of 18 credit hours of math content.

The program is designed for:

  • Secondary math teachers;
  • Students with an undergraduate concentration in math or math education; and
  • Prospective college/university math instructors.

The master’s program enhances secondary math teachers’ knowledge for teaching, while providing the math content preparation required for teaching at most two-or four-year colleges.

The Math Education program is offered through Radford University’s School of Teacher Education and Leadership, which is part of the College of Education and Human Development.
