Radford University’s Center for Career and Talent Development and Office of Alumni Relations is asking for professional attire donations to its Career Closet Clothing Drive this weekend.

The Career Closet provides free professional business attire to Radford University students to wear for job interviews. The drive is collecting suitable, cleaned clothing to help boost student confidence and success when meeting with potential employers.

Alumni, faculty and staff and friends can contribute to the Career Closet by donating gently used professional apparel for all genders. Interviewing suits and attire are especially needed.

“Since August 2017, 280 students have found the perfect attire at the Career Closet,” said Teresa Dickens, assistant director and career coach in the Center for Career and Talent Development.

All donations are tax deductible.

Career Closet Collection dates are:

  • Friday, Oct. 19 – Noon to 8 p.m. in Russell Hall Lobby
  • Saturday, Oct. 20 – 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Russell Hall Lobby

The Career Closet is located in Russell Hall 331. Donations are accepted throughout the year.

The Center for Career and Talent Development’s ambition is to create an innovative community that fosters career and talent development.  It’s where students can collaborate with career coaches, employers, faculty and alumni to discover their career path, gain relevant experience and thrive.
