As the strong partnership between Radford University and the City of Radford continues to grow, we are pleased to provide an exciting announcement regarding the Radford Highlanders Festival. This event represents a longstanding community tradition honoring our region's Scots-Irish heritage.

For 2019, the festival will return to the Radford University campus where it was proudly held for a number of years before moving to Bisset Park in 2014 due to several construction and renovation projects. The festival is scheduled for October 12, 2019 and will feature the famed heavyweight games, live entertainment, food, vendors, and festivities for all ages. The festival is a great opportunity for the entire community to come together and celebrate the Highlander spirit.

We encourage Radford University classes, clubs, and organizations to begin planning for this exciting event. We also encourage local businesses and community members to begin their preparations for the annual festival, which provides a unique opportunity for us to welcome thousands of visitors to our area. Next year's planning will be led by the Radford Highlanders Festival Committee, a joint group representing individuals from Radford University and the City of Radford under the leadership of Secretary to the Board of Visitors and Special Assistant to the President Karen Casteele and City Manager David Ridpath.
