Radford University’s College of Business and Economics (COBE) is offering a graduate-level certificate in business analytics beginning in the fall 2018 semester.

The new certificate program will provide students with tools to differentiate themselves in the job market and bridge the gap between discipline-specific knowledge and the ability to analyze relevant data for informed decision making.

Courses will be taught by Radford University Analytics faculty. Most courses will be offered in a hybrid format allowing students to take classes online or on campus. Applications to enter the new program in the fall are open through Aug. 20; candidates have until December to register for Spring 2019 enrollment.

Candidates for the certificate will take one course per semester and may complete the certificate in 22 months or less, depending on the course schedule.

The program will be offered jointly with SAS Analytics, a leader in data analytics software and the largest independent vendor in the business intelligence market.

Students enrolled in COBE’s MBA program can obtain joint certification with SAS as an area of focus in their program.

“The program also is ideal for college graduates who are interested in obtaining an in-demand and valuable skill set without pursuing a full graduate degree,” said Radford University MBA Director Gary Schirr. “It’s a valuable program, too, for graduate and post-graduate students who are interested in achieving a competitive edge in the job market.

"The head of human resources for a major nearby employer told me the Graduate Certificate in Analytics is exactly what they are looking for in a potential employee," Schirr continued.

The certificate complements many degree programs at Radford University, Schirr said.

To qualify for the program, Radford MBA students need inform their program director that they are pursuing the certificate. Other candidates go through a streamlined application process. Applications may be completed online at https://www.applyweb.com/radg/index.ftl
