Professor showcases solo classical guitar work

The Performance Hall at the Covington Center will showcase a solo classical guitar concert by Professor and Graduate Music Coordinator Robert Trent on Feb. 26 at 7:30 p.m.

The performance contains a variety of works including the premiere of a unique piece called “impromptu,” which composer Ronald Pearl wrote for Trent.

The concert also features soprano and Radford instructor Marlayna Maynard.

The recital benefits the To Our House program, whose mission is to provide thermal shelter and compassionate care to the homeless in the New River Valley.

Attendees are encouraged to bring extra hats, gloves, socks, shoes and other similar items to the show for donations. Admission to the event is free.

More information about Dr. Robert Trent as well as videos of past performances can be found on his Vimeo page.
