Enterprise CarShare offering membership discount

Enrollment is now open for Radford University’s car-sharing program with Enterprise CarShare, a membership-based, automated car-rental option that offers vehicles on a short-term basis.

The program is available to students, faculty and staff with a credit card and a valid driver’s license.

The membership fee for the first year is waived, and applications can be completed online.

Membership includes access to vehicles in designated on-campus parking spaces; online access to vehicle registration; low rates for hourly, daily and overnight use; and 24-hour, 7-days-a-week vehicle availability.

Drivers will pay $9 per hour to rent a vehicle, $70 daily and $30 overnight (6 p.m. to 8 a.m.). Rental price includes driving up to 200 miles per day. Renters will pay 45 cents for each addition mile.

Registered members have access to a Nissan Sentra, available in parking lot F between Muse and Tyler Halls. Drivers access the vehicle with their registration cards.

An Enterprise CarShare member can reserve a vehicle online. Vehicles are returned to the pickup spot in lot F. Fuel and insurance are included. Students 18 and older are eligible for membership in Enterprise CarShare and its around-the-clock access.

The Enterprise CarShare program operates services to more than 60 universities, as well as dozens of military bases, federal, state and local government entities, corporations and retail markets throughout North America.

“The CarShare program provides a modern, well-maintained, fuel efficient vehicle to Radford University community members when they need it. Having a vehicle available on campus when needed may encourage more faculty, staff, and students to use public transit and reduce the overall number of vehicles on campus.”
