From poachers telephoning fish to bear gallbladders on the China market, Radford University Criminal Justice Professor Egan Green discussed a range of rural criminology topics on an upcoming episode of the NPR radio program “With Good Reason.”

Green, who specializes in rural criminology research, also discussed moonshining, wildlife crime and using “Bucky the Buck” - a deer decoy - in the classroom.

“It was quite a thrill to be interviewed for the show,” Green said. “With Good Reason covers many fascinating topics in academia, so for my work to be included is an honor. The staff was fantastic and I had such a good time doing the interview.”

The radio program will air Sept. 16-22 on more than 60 radio stations across the United States.

Listeners in the New River Valley can hear the show at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 19 on Public Radio WVRU 89.9. Programs also are available as podcasts at withgoodreasonradio.org.
