Radford University faculty member Anja Whittington will serve as special guest instructor for the upcoming WOAH! Weekend on Sept. 23-25 at Camp Carysbrook in Riner.

WOAH (Women’s Outdoor Adventure Happenings) Weekend is an outdoor activities program for women and girls. The weekend will focus on developing outdoor living skills and adventure fun. The program is designed for girls and women and will be led by women volunteers. Female students studying outdoor recreation at Radford University are among the volunteers leading activities and outdoor workshops.

Participants must be 18 years old or be accompanied by an adult. Cabins are available for accommodations and meals will be served.

“The weekend was designed with the thought that you could come alone or bring a 'camper' with you—a daughter, mother, mentee or anyone else you are interested in sharing the experience with,” said Whittington, an associate professor in Radford University’s Department of Recreation, Parks and Tourism.

To learn more, including pricing information, and to register for the camp online, visit the Camp Carysbrook website. Information is also available on the WOAH! Facebook page.
