Students will begin returning to campus on Aug. 25.

Summer has sailed by, and in less than two weeks, students return to Radford University.

The Student Activities team has organized a jam-packed schedule of events to engage students on and off campus when they return, starting Aug. 25.

Move-in weekend highlights include the RU Ready Bash: Night at the Carnival on Aug. 26. The event will include carnival-themed games, rides and prizes. On Aug. 27, students are encouraged to volunteer with the Fall Into the New clean-up effort. Students will spend the morning cleaning up the New River. Participants are encouraged to wear sunblock, river shoes and sturdy clothing.

New Student Convocation will be held on Aug. 28 at 5 p.m. in Bondurant Auditorium. Radford University's new president, Dr. Brian O. Hemphill, will speak, as well as current students, faculty and staff. The Class of 2020 Student Photo will follow immediately after.

Throughout the move-in weekend, the Student Recreation and Wellness Center will be open and offering special workout classes, such as Zumba and Body Pump. There will be several movie screenings, including an outdoor movie event on Aug. 27 at 9 p.m. at the Dedmon Baseball Stadium.

Several Highlander athletic teams will compete at home, including women's soccer and women's volleyball.

Radford's annual BE S.E.E.N. (Be Successful Through Engagement and Education Now) initiative kicks off the first week of classes with the theme, "Welcome, Highlanders!" Club Fair is planned for Sept. 2 at 3:30 p.m. on Moffett Lawn.
