Campus community shows support for Autism awareness

Radford University President Penelope W. Kyle gathered with faculty, staff and students around the campus water fountain on April 2 in recognition of World Autism Awareness Day.

Participants were encouraged to wear their favorite shade of blue. "Light It Up Blue" is a global initiative to kick-off Autism Awareness Month. OnĀ World Autism Awareness Day, many international landmarks, hotels, sporting venues, concert halls, museums, bridges and retail stores across the globe unite by shining bright blue lights in honor of the millions of individuals and families around the world affected by autism.

RU's events were sponsored by The Disability Resource Office and AutismSpeaksURadfordUniversity, a campus chapter of Autism Speaks.
